A Birthday Date Night

This post is sponsored by Bonefish Grill, all opinions are expressly my own.

I am 34 — feeling fancy and free!  I have never felt more comfortable in my own skin.  I mean I turned 30 and I decided I could pull off dangly earrings, why not?  I tried out skinny jeans and have survived the putting on and taking off process, several times over.  Just the other day I got some wild (for me) trendy sunglasses and felt confident.  I mean I nearly stuck the above pose except I teetered on my  dusty stilettos. I love being in my 30’s.  Anyone else?
You know what else I have come to love the older I get – a night away!  I couldn’t wait to celebrate my birthday with a dinner date night with sweet friends.  No cooking, no dishes, no cutting other people’s food, full conversations and warm, delicious food.  A sweet birthday gift for sure!
We dropped the kids off at my inlaws and headed to Bonefish Grill with our dear friends for a coveted double date.  While we waited for our friends, we grabbed a drink in Bonefish Grills’ bar.  They had some delicious seasonal specials, I got a glass of prosecco and Scott had their moscow mule!  They take reservations which is awesome so when our friends arrived, we sat right down in a cozy booth.
Bang Bang Shrimp and Thai Coconut Shrimp Appetizers
I had never been there before but when I told people where we were going, everyone said “you have to get the bang bang shrimp”.  I mean everyone said it’s the best.  Can I tell you, I AGREE.  It was heaven in my mouth, that sauce they put on it is SO good.  A little spice and everything nice.  We also shared the thai coconut shrimp and it was too good for words too.  Yum!
Our waiter was great about pacing our meal because when this momma goes out, I want to enjoy every last moment away.  Amen?  He didn’t rush us, he was funny and helpful and super attentive.
Baja Blackened Fish Tacos (split)
Summer Duo – Sirloin and Crab Cake Duo (split)
Our friends split the Baja Blacked Fish Tacos and we chose to split the sirloin & crab cake duo they are featuring this summer. The crab cake was made by the amazing spicy aioli type sauce that came with it.  Bonefish Grill knows how to do a sauce!

I love sharing foods with my hubby so we can try more things.  Bonefish Grill split the meal and plated it separately in the back so we didn’t have to lift a finger which was awesome.  It’s the little things!
Macadamia Nut Brownie Dessert
You know what my birthday means – dessert!  Complimentary dessert for the birthday girl which of course I shared.  I chose the macadamia nut brownie.  The raspberry sauce that came with it made the dessert.  #awesomesauce
The whole evening was such a delight.  Before I left, I decided what I am getting next time.  The bang bang shrimp tacos.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
We left with full hearts, full bellies and feeling so fancy since we were out without kids at a restaurant with cloth napkins and dimmed lighting.  It was a great way to celebrate my birthday! My 34th year is off with a bang (see what I did there).  I can’t wait to see what this year holds!
Have you ever eaten at Bonefish Grill?

What is your favorite menu item there?

Are you a bang bang shrimp lover too?

Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, keep on keeping on (koko) with a joyful, faith-filled life! #tribekoko
