Who doesn’t love lasagna? However, with 4 kids, in this season of life making lasagna from scratch is not feasible so when we were visiting my parents in Arizona for spring break, my mom served us Costco’s ravioli lasagna and i thought I could make this easy dish at home. We have had this easy ravioli lasagna bake several times since.

Easy Ravioli Lasagna Bake Recipe

What Ingredients do you need for Ravioli Lasagna?

  • 1 jar marinara sauce of your choice
  • 1 lb. Italian sausage, cooked
  • 1 package frozen cheese raviolis
  • 12 oz. package shredded mozzarella cheese

Let’s Get Cooking…

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Brown and crumble the Italian sausage. Meanwhile, I like to cook my ravioli, it’s not a requirement and if you are in a hurry, you can skip this step. Boil a pot of water and then pour ravioli in for 5-6 minutes. Then, drain and allow to cool.

When the sausage and raviolis are cooked, you can start making your lasagna. Just like lasagna, you are going to start to layer all the ingredients. Start by pouring a little marinara sauce on the bottom of a glass 9×13 pan and spreading it to cover the bottom.

Then, layer on the raviolis. I usually do 3 across for the first layer. Scoop and spread the Italian sausage on, followed by a 1/3 more sauce and 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.

For the final layer of ravioli, I line 4 across, then add the rest of the meat, sauce and top with the remaining 1 cup shredded mozarella cheese.

If the raviolis are cooked, place in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees uncovered. If the raviolis are frozen, cover the pan in tin foil and place in the oven for 30 minutes, take the foil off and cook uncovered for an addtional 15 minutes.

We like to serve this easy ravioli lasagna bake with this green bean recipe, a bagged Caesar salad kit and some garlic bread.

Can you use frozen raviolis?

Yes, if you are short on time you can. Just add an additional 15 minutes to your cook time for a total of 45 minutes.

What is the best Italian cheese for lasagna?

Usually, lasagna includes ricotta and mozzarella cheese. Since, the raviolis are stuffed with cheese like ricotta, this recipe just calls for mozzarella cheese.

Can you cook this recipe in the crockpot?

Yes, cook it for 2.5 hours on high.

Can you freeze this ravioli lasagna?

Yes, place in a freezer safe air-tight container. It can be stored for up to 6 months. Allow to thaw before baking.

Can you make ravioli lasagna vegetarian?

Yes, simple leave out the Italian sausage. You can even add in some spinach or layer zucchini instead.

Can you substitute ground beef?

You can get creative. Add in ground beef or add a little heat with spicy Italian sausage. The options are endless.

Easy 4-Ingredient Ravioli Lasagna Bake

An easy take on a classic Italian favorite - lasagna. Try this baked ravioli lasagna casserole. It can be on the table in 45 minutes!

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Jar Marinara Sauce
  • 1 Lb. Italian Sausage
  • 1 Bag Frozen Cheese Ravioli
  • 12 Oz. Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Brown and crumble Italian sausage.
  3. Cook raviolis to package specifications.
  4. Pour 1/4 C. sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 pan and spread to coat evenly.
  5. Layer in raviolis to cover the pan.
  6. Pour 1/2 Italian sausage on top and spread to evenly coat.
  7. Spread 1/3 jar marinara on top and sprinkle 1/2 shredded cheese on top.
  8. Add another layer of ravioli, followed by Italian sausage, remaining sauce and top with remaining cheese.
  9. Cook for 30 minutes uncovered in the oven.
  10. Serve with side salad and garlic bread.

Notes

Raviolis can be frozen. Add an additional 15 minutes to your cook time.
