Happy 3rd Birthday Lucy

I blinked and she is 3. She ended her 2nd year of life with her first big injury. She collided with Solon on a freshly mopped floor and hyper-extended and sprained her knee so she is back to crawling at the moment. She is starting to feel better and her happy, silly personality is back!

She loves to make you laugh and smile. She will grab your face and pull you into a kiss and a nice big hug. She loves to snuggle (on her terms) and loves that she is now sleeping with Vera in bunk beds. We are still working on sleeping in as she has been getting up nice and early and waking her sister up too!

Lucy loves to play with dolls, dance, use her imagination, cook in her kitchen and sing. Right now, she particularly loves the song Baby Shark, The Greatest Showman soundtrack, the show Pinkalicious (and she says it so cute) and Minnie’s Bow-toons. Curious George can get her to belly giggle every time. She loves pizza, anything Mexican and the girl loves applesauce pouches and granola bars!

She can’t wait to start a dance class in the fall. She wears Vera’s old ballet slippers around the house. Lucy is fully potty trained and quite independent. She is always keeping up with the big kids and loves to play with both Solon and Vera.

I am so anxious to see her slide into her big sister role this next year and this will be her last year at home before preschool so I am trying to soak up my one on one time with her. It’s hard to imagine life before her but oh my word, it brings me to tears, the months I cried out to God to bless us with one more child. She was definitely worth the wait and we are so thankful for the sparkling little ray of sunshine that she is! We love her to the moon and back.

She picked a “Poppy” birthday theme so we are bowling with friends today and then tonight we will head to Nana and Papa’s for the first of two family birthday parties. We will also celebrate with my side at the lake this next week!
