September 2018 Favorite 10

As I ease back into life after preparing for a women’s retreat, I thought I would share with you a couple of things that I am loving lately since it’s been a hot second since I have shared Friday Favorites and I love a good recommendation myself!

Next weekend Scott, Solon and I will head to Pittsburgh for a Steelers game.  The girls will be with my mom and are going to the American Girl Doll Store.  My parents’ gifted these events to the kids for their birthdays and Scott and I get to tag along, lucky us!  Everyone is excited. So this weekend we are going to enjoy a lazy Saturday morning watching our favorite show, Innovation Nation, and sipping coffee on the couch and see where the weather takes us :).

Don’t forget to join me for Friday Fun LIVE on Instagram and Facebook today at 12 pm CST.  I am sharing all about our no spend September challenge including how much money we saved, tips we learned and what we are going to do going forward!  But first, let me share my September Favorite 10!

September Favorite 10

1. Limited Edition Mrs. Meyer’s Fall Scented Soaps

I love simple indulgences and these soaps make me happy! It also make doing dishes, wiping counters and washing hands more enjoyable.  We just got Basil which is a year-round option as well as the seasonal Apple Cider and mum scent.  They make great gifts!

2. Aveda Blue Malva Shampoo

When I got my hair highlighted in August, I told my hair stylist I was having trouble with my hair getting brassy.  She recommended I try their purple shampoo, literally it’s purple. I bought a big bottle, the most I have spent on shampoo for a long time!  It has made a huge difference and she told me it should last a year!

3. 100 Days to Brave Devotional

I love reading this devotional by Annie F. Downs.  It’s short so I just read it in addition to what I am reading in the bible. Sometimes, I will read the cross-references for the key verse she shares but the message always strikes a chord with my heart.

3. Fresh Salsa and Tostito’s Cantina Thins

I have mentioned this combo on my Facebook & Instagram Friday FUN Live (which by the way is every Friday at 12 pm CST) but we now order both weekly in our Wal-mart online grocery order.  If you have not tried online grocery pickup, you need to!  Click here to get $10 off your first pick-up order.

4. Favorite Gel Top Coat

I painted my nails again last weekend I just love how fast the Revlon Gel Top Coat dries and how durable it makes any nail polish.  The price is right and I also love the Sally Hanson nail polish Johannah introduced me to.

5. Touchnote App

My sister shared this app with me and it’s our new favorite way to send thank you notes and happy snail mail to our friends and family.  You buy credits (the more you buy, the better the deal).  You can create a postcard or card.  There are several layout options and you use photos from your phone and/or graphics they offer.  Once the photos are in place, you type a personal message, upload the address (which it saves for future) and click send.  The quality is amazing and sending meaningful snail mail has never been easier!

6. Democracy Jeans

You all wanted to know about my jeans and I love them so much.  They are higher-waisted with great stretch and the perfect dark denim color that flatters you.  You can find them at Nordstrom Rack and online.  They are generally under $50and are my new favorite go-to jean!

7. Cardigans

Last but not least I have been loving longer cardigans lately.  You all loved the burnt orange one I wore last week.  We haven’t spent any money all of September but I am in need of a new black cardigan to add to my wardrobe.  I have my eye on this one.

8. Favorite Workout Shoe

With all this beautiful fall weather, I have been adding walking to my workout rotation and I am reminded how much Brookes running shoes save my knees.  They do cost more but I have had this pair for over a year!

9. Emily Ley at Office Depot

I am so excited for her new product line at Office Depot.  I use a spiral-bound weekly and her main brand doesn’t carry one.  I have my eye on this one or this one.  She inspires me in my own business and I love her cheery, happy vibe.

10. Walgreen’s Photo App

This week, I needed to update some of Scott’s photos for his office.  Lucy wasn’t in any of his existing photos so it was time for a refresh.  I hopped on the Walgreen’s photo app that connected to my phone’s photo library and clicked the photos I wanted to print, the sizes and ordered.  I got an email about an hour later they were ready to be picked up.

What are you loving these days?

Until next time keep on keeping on with a simple purposeful life!
