What’s Up May 2018

Tomorrow is the last day of school around here and we had the best Memorial Day Weekend.  We enjoyed a Minnesota lake weekend with record highs that topped 100 degrees.  It’s unusual to float in the lake that just had ice in it 3 weeks prior but we did just that and it felt amazing!  Before we dive into summer, let’s take a quick look back on May for one of my favorite link-ups of the month, What’s Up Wednesday!

What I’m Reminiscing About

Since my niece was born this month, my kids have been reminiscing about when they were babies.  I made each of them a book from their first birthday and we have been reading them almost every day.  We are approaching birthday season around here and I can’t believe I will have a 9, 7, and 3 year old.  I blinked and they grew up I swear!

What I’m Loving

I started sharing my Friday Favorites as a part of a fun Facebook/Instagram Live series every Friday.  I am also sending all the links and what’s new on the blog to my email subscribers.  Make sure to sign-up here for my email list so you can get that one weekly email.  See last week’s Friday Fun Facebook Live here.  I always go LIVE around 1 pm CST on Friday!

What We’ve Been Up To

Life Lately Volume 1

Life Lately Volume 2

We have been attending lots of baseball games, enjoying being outside as much as possible, headed to the lake, hanging out with friends and family and surviving this busy season!

What I’m Dreading

Nothing that I can think of – yay!

What I’m Working On

stacked coins budget basics online course

I am really excited to teach my first online course for Simple Purposeful Living.  Tending to a budget became a priority when I decided to stay home full-time and go from two incomes to one.  At first, we didn’t think it would work but with some changes and purposeful spending, we have been fine.

7 out of 10 Americans are in consumer debt and I know how much stress finances can put on a marriage and limit your ability to do what you want so I decided to share how we keep a simple monthly budget so we can track our money and make wise financial decisions for today and our future.

You can find out more here and get in on the Early Bird Special.

What I’m Excited About

I get to go meet my new niece in Washington next week all by myself.  I can’t wait for baby snuggles and time with my sister!  It takes a village when mom’s away so I am thankful for such an awesome village :)!

What I’m Doing This Weekend

I am apart of a women’s philanthropic group called PEO and I am attending the convention!  Solon has a baseball game and we might try to hit the pool.  We are also celebrating the start of a summer.  We go out to dinner on the last day of school and have ice cream with the neighbors!

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

Lucy turns 3 and we will officially become logged in with our adoption on June 28th!

What Else is New

I have yet to blog about the Simple Purposeful Living Event but it went so well.  I learned a lot and loved connecting with local tribe members and collaborating with two other local bloggers!  I hope to do it again for sure next year.  I am also booking speaking engagements so if you need a speaker or know someone that does, I would love to come share.  You can email me at erin@simplepurposefulliving.com!

Until next time keep on keeping on with a simple purposeful life!
